AAHA Accreditation

What is AAHA Accreditation?

Unlike human hospitals, animal hospitals are not required to be accredited in order to function. This means that they are not checked periodically by an unaffiliated organization in order to ensure that they are maintaining certain high quality levels of care. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is one such organization that performs quality checks. Every three years, an AAHA accredited hospital is visited by an AAHA agent that evaluates the hospital according to the AAHA Standards of Accreditation. These hospitals are evaluated based on approximately 900 different standards of veterinary care.

Only approximately 12-15% of animal hospitals in the US and Canada are actually AAHA accredited. Russell Veterinary Hospital P.C. belongs in this category, and this means that our hospitals are held to a much higher standard than others. This allows us to give our clients peace of mind when it comes to the care of their pets. Our clients understand that when their pet is in our hands, they are receiving the best care possible.
